Etowah Indian Mounds is the largest Native American settlement in the Etowah Valley. Located along the north bank of the Etowah River near Cartersville, GA, the flat-topped earthen knolls were used between 900 and 1550 A.D. as a platform for the home of the priest/chief, temples and mortuary houses.
